Eldon Biologicals was privileged to participate in the stakeholder meeting launching the AFRICARhE project in Tanzania. The AFRICARhE project is a three-country initiative launched by Sanquin and LUMC, the Netherlands, in collaboration with Haramaya University, Harar, Ethiopia, Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital, Blantyre, Malawi, and Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre, Moshi, Tanzania.
The project will, among other goals, establish the burden of Rhesus disease in the participating countries, and demonstrate how the condition can be prevented, also in low resource settings.
Extremely interesting and useful visits to the Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre in Moshi, visits to stakeholders in Dodoma, and including Ministry of Health and the regional blood centre, and a visit to the Medical Stores Department in Dar es Salaam.
The next step for Eldon Biologicals will be to ensure that the EldonCard soon will be registered and commercially available in Tanzania.
