The AFRICARhE Project takes off in Ethiopia

Eldon Biologicals was privileged to participate in the stakeholder meeting launching the AFRICARhE project in Ethiopia. The AFRICARhE project is a three-country initiative launched by Sanquin and LUMC, the Netherlands, in collaboration with Haramaya University, Harar, Ethiopia, Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital, Blantyre, Malawi, and Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre, Moshi, Tanzania.

The project will, among other goals, establish the burden of Rhesus disease in the participating countries, and demonstrate how the condition can be prevented, also in low resource settings.

Extremely interesting and useful visits to the National Blood and Tissues Bank and to Saint Paul’s Hospital, Addis Ababa, were included in the overall programme.

We were also fortunate to be invited to visit the Minister of Health, Her Excellency Dr. Mekdes Daba, to brief her on the AFRICARhE project and the innovative advantages of the EldonCard.

Eldon Biologicals would also like to thank Setema Limited PLC, our Distributor in Ethiopia, who was ensured that the EldonCard is now registered and commercially available in Ethiopia.
